Jennifer Gibeau

A self proclaimed ‘small town girl’, Jennifer set out to expand her horizons in the big city after graduating from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario (BAH, 2005). With a professional background in Retail Marketing, Jennifer combined her work experience with her penchant for beautiful products and photography and started a lifestyle Blog entitled The Pretty Purveyor. In an effort to learn more about online publishing, Jennifer attended Blog Podium - Canada's conference for design bloggers, where she found herself in the company of her design idol, Sarah Richardson. Soon after meeting Sarah, Jennifer joined the design firm in 2013 and became the company’s first Online Media Manager.

Partial to spicy food, rom coms and nude lipgloss, Jennifer is an avid Instagrammer who enjoys snapping the occasional #selfie. When she’s not discovering new style trends and flipping through design books, Jennifer can be found taking in the sights, scoping out the latest gift shop and unearthing treasures from local flea markets and vintage stores. Ever the explorer, Jennifer has her heart set on returning to Paris, France to learn more about the city that has influenced her sense of style. She currently lives in a small one bedroom apartment that is in desperate need of a makeover. Stay tuned!

THING YOU WOULD BUY FOR YOUR HOME IF MONEY WERE NO OBJECT

An antique Persian rug for my living room; the colours would be fabulously faded and aged to perfection!

BEST DESIGN BARGAIN YOU BOUGHT FOR YOUR HOME

A vintage barrel back velvet tufted caned arm chair for $20 at a flea market. All it needed was a little cleaning and a fresh stain to look as good as new!

FAVOURITE DESIGN BOOK

It’s a toss up between “Black & White (and a bit in between)” by Celerie Kemble and “French Accents” by Erin Swift.

Art Deco. I adore the curved ornamentation and sophisticated geometric details characteristic of this design period.

Linen for its texture. Ideally in an irregular dot pattern or an eye-catching abstract design.

WHAT IS YOUR NEUTRAL/COLOUR DESIGN RATIO?

70% neutral / 30% colour
