WHIMSY & STYLE:

Add style and sophistication to your pint-sized bathroom with a custom made vanity crafted from in-stock lumber parts. A pair of turned wood table legs can be used to anchor the ends of the vanity base, and you can add a touch of whimsical Victorian-inspired detail by re-imagining an inexpensive piece of pine house trim as a decorative apron below your counter.

TIP: Add a piece of 1" x 8" pine behind the open piece of trim and you'll be able to hide the underside of the sink and plumbing.

STORAGE:

Making your own vanity doesn't mean sacrificing storage. If you install a wall mounted medicine cabinet, you'll get plenty of storage for toiletries and tall items, all at easy to access eye level - and an extra mirror too!

COUNTERTOP & FAUCET:

Instead of paying for a custom fit countertop, take a stroll through the aisles and see what options are available in stock and ready to go. Once you've selected a counter and know the outside dimensions, you can build your custom vanity to fit perfectly. As an added bonus, ready to use counters also come with a sink installed, and are pre-drilled for faucets.

TIP: In stock stone counters come with holes drilled for your faucet, and are available with either a 4" or 8" spread to accomodate the faucet you choose. An 8" spread will give you more selection to choose from, and will lend a more upscale look to your bathroom.

MIRRORS:

Add a touch of pretty polish to your bathroom, and install a round, porthole-inspired mirror with a sparkly mirror on mirror frame. Adding a circular element to all the boxy elements in a room can be a welcome change of shape!

Create a layered monochromatic palette of greys by combining a variety of different stone materials in similar tones. Carrera, Cipollino and Iceberg marble all blend well with a speckled granite counter when shades of grey are the common theme.

classic coastal charm:

Add a hint of classic coastal charm to your bathroom, and tie in the painted wood details of your vanity by installing beadboard wainscoting on your walls. Solid pine panelling that's finished with a semi-gloss paint finish provides a more durable finish than plain drywall, plus it adds texture and is easier and more cost effective to install than tile!
